Birmingham City F.C. under new ownership as Garry Cook appointed as Chief Executive Officer

Former Aston Villa CEO Garry Cook has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Birmingham City F.C

Cook, who previously served as CEO of Aston Villa F.C. from 2006 to 2010, has been tasked with overseeing the day-to-day operations of Birmingham City F.C.

Cook will also be responsible for developing and implementing the club's strategy, as well as working closely with the board of directors.

Cook has over 20 years of experience in the football industry, having also held senior positions at Wrexham A.F.C. and Tranmere Rovers F.C

Cook's appointment comes at a crucial time for Birmingham City F.C.

The club was relegated from the Championship to League One at the end of the 2021/22 season and is currently facing financial difficulties.

Cook will be expected to use his experience to help Birmingham City F.C. return to the Championship and improve its financial situation.

Cook said he is delighted to have been appointed as CEO of Birmingham City F.C.

He said: "I am very excited to be joining Birmingham City F.C. and I am looking forward to working with the board of directors, the staff, and the players to help the club achieve its goals.

"I believe that Birmingham City F.C. has the potential to be a successful club and I am confident that we can achieve great things together.
